Personal Goal Setting - Reach Your Goals

Posted by on July 26, 2009

As part of the overall personal development process, personal goal setting is beyond question central in rendering a clear insight of what you would like to accomplish.  Making at least one or so personal goals appears to be a straightforward process. You determine a particular goal, a goal which is considerable and holds a specified timeframe to be completed. You follow through with your schedule, evaluate your advancement to accomplishing your personal goal and then appraise the outcome objectively to tweak your personal goal setting.

Apparently, it flows well while sounding easy enough to execute. Regrettably, personal goal setting seldom works out that way for several reasons; principally because we frequently fail to determine down-to-earth goals. In addition, we often casually set goals with only a blurry view to how they will really be attained. Still while we are generally driven at the begining of the formula of setting personal goals, it’s not really much at all unusual to lose our enthusiasm somewhere down the road.

When determining your goals, it’s crucial to first understand that each goal you establish should be practical and readily doable, given a suitable amount of time and resources.  For example, Setting out goals to gain $40,000 a month within the next four months, whilst your present income are much less than $2,000, is probably unrealistic. Yet, making an ongoing manageable goal to grow your income by 4% to 12% per month is not simply realistic, but likewise more likely to be doable.

Once you have decided on a personal goal you believe you can reach, the next thing to do is to break it down into smaller, manageable tasks and setting them in sequence (presuming one goal hinges on the ending of another). Ahead of specifying an end date the complete goal must be carried out, be sure that all little goal is devoted a sensible amount of time to end and let the sum of the chores determine the end date, rather than arbitrarily selecting one.

Based upon how long into the future your personal goals are projected it may be really valuable to set regular progression recaps, even when you are the only person taking part. For example, establishing a spot each Monday afternoon to take stock of your progress plus make any needed adjustments will hold your goals up to date. Do not be disappointed if something unanticipated impedes with your progress every once in a while. This is to be expected and you will simply have to find a way to compensate for it.

One more fraud barrier to truly attaining your goals is the act of setting personal goals itself. Be sure to avoid using a goal development formula that takes up more resources and time than the current goal itself. On a smaller scale, an uncomplicated spreadsheet will oftentimes be suffice to manage your total personal goal setting requirements. For bigger scale personal goal setting development, a host of personal goal setting software exists, normally scalable for all individuals.

Separate from really working the procedure towards finally finishing your goal, the final thing to do should be to set aside some time to assess the full process and your performance when finished. This must be done objectively and taken as a learning opportunity, a process that will help you to boost your process the next time out.

With proper development, setting personal goals that are practical can really benefit you and your company in the long run, particularly If you simplify the goal administration operation for yourself. If you look on setting personal goals a evolving operation focused on continuous process advancement, sooner or later you should see a considerable enrichment in all that you aspire to do!

The Benefits Of Self Hypnosis

trance music

Perhaps you are wondering if you should try hypnotizing yourself. According to Bruce Goldberg, author of “Self Hypnosis: Easy Ways to Hypnotize Your Phobias Away,” this procedure can eliminate unwanted habits, get rid of phobias, slow the aging process, enable you to be more creative, improve concentration and memory, eliminate chronic pain and improve your sex life. Are you sold yet? While it may sound unlikely that people can simply learn to self hypnotize, there are a number of books written on the subject and an even larger inventory of self-help audio tapes, downloads and videos aimed at teaching you just that.

“If there is anything you’d like to change that is interfering with your life, hypnosis can help,” explains self hypnosis instructor Ruth Guedes of New Haven, Connecticut. “What your mind can conceive, you can achieve.” She notes that the process works rather quickly and she has never seen a patient more than six times. She plays soothing music while reading from a script that will put subjects into a state of trance and take them on a journey through flower-filled fields and endlessly flowing streams. In the process, participants wash away fears and anxieties and create alternate futures, she says.

There are several common mistakes people make when trying to hypnotize themselves. You might find that you are trying to force yourself to imagine something that doesn’t come naturally or are over-analyzing the process. Instead, you will want to be sure you are completely relaxed first, before you allow your mind to wander. Start by counting backwards while breathing deeply, as this is a classic trick to deepen relaxation. With each count, you are going deeper and deeper, and before you know it, you’ll be in a state of trance! Now that you are in a suggestible, emotional state, you can begin using “I” phrases to affirm what you wish to learn. Some people prefer to spend this time imagining themselves achieving their goals instead. Others still might want to play a tape with someone else’s voice guiding their positive thinking here. To awaken from your trance, tell yourself you will feel refreshed and fully awake at the count of three.

To begin your journey into self hypnosis, you may want to visit www.free-hypnosisdownloads.com, where you can find a number of free hypnosis meditation downloads. Once you get a feel for the type of language and imagery used, you will have an easier time hypnotizing yourself at will. The reason you will want to learn to hypnotize yourself is that it can be a powerful motivational technique, as well as an effective stress-reliever. When you begin to feel your blood boil, you can use hypnotic suggestion to bring your heart rate down and find peace.

Using Binaural Beats To Enhance Your Meditation

Posted by on July 26, 2009

There’s no big deal to making a binaural beats meditation. You just need a stereo headset, and listen to one frequency with one ear, and another frequency in the other ear that is almost but not quite the same. So why are some psychological and spiritual researchers making such a big deal about them? And why do they think they can improve your mental state and help your meditation get better?

It turns out that according to physics, sounds at two slightly different frequencies produce “beats”. These beats have a frequency that is the difference between the two frequencies of the original tones. Suppose for instance, if a pure tone of 500 cycles per second is played in the left ear, and a pure tone of 520 cycles per second is played in the right ear. Then a binaural beat is produced with a frequency of 520 minus 500 equals 20 beats per second.

What’s special about binaural beats is that your brain can somehow “hear” them, and responds at the same frequency. You’ve probably seen something similar if you’ve plucked a string on a guitar, which causes other strings to vibrate. Similarly, brain waves respond to binaural beats according to the physical phenomenon of “resonance”. So essentially, binaural beats can “tune” your brain. Researchers have shown that brain waves with lower frequencies are related to relaxing, meditation, and creativity. On the other hand, brain waves with higher frequencies mean that your mind is active, and also that you’re exercising your memory.

Take note that it takes more than just listening to binaural beats to put you into a higher state of consciousness. There are lots of other factors which have been studied by lots of researchers, including both scientists and gurus. Breathing exercises, humming, background music and other techniques have all been used in various ways.

Is your interest piqued by now? It’s not hard to find sites on the web where you can buy binaural beat generating equipment. You may want to experiment for yourself. Or, there are plenty of “experts” that sell books and tapes to instruct you on how to enhance your meditation experience with binaural beats meditation. Just be careful to distinguish the real experts from the crackpots!

Children who are experiencing a depressive episode may also experience fascination with gory or morbid topics, low self-esteem, and oversensitivity or exaggerated emotional responses.

In some cases aggressive behaviors, symptoms of manic episodes include decreased need for sleep, rapid speech, racing thoughts, impulsive behavior and distractibility. Children suffering from manic episode also have temper tantrums, motor or vocal tics, extreme irritability and “silly” behaviors.

Hypomania is similar to mania, but less severe.  For many, hypomania seems like the person is just in a good mood, particularly when compared to a depressive episode.  A mixed state episode occurs when symptoms of depression and mania are present at the same time.
