Happiness, generally speaking, tends to be a rather personal experience. We are all different of course, so this just makes perfect sense in many respects. However, there are certain universal factors that most people would agree are key to what makes people happy. We’ll take a look at some of these factors here.

Having a close support group is high on this list. And whilst saying how important friends and family are may be clichéd; it doesn’t make it any less true. It is a two way street too; whilst you get the vital support necessary from this support group; just as much good is received through you supporting others.

This dovetails nicely into another important factor; that of giving of yourself. When we help others, no matter the size of the task, chemicals are released into the body which gives an immediate boost. Research has also proven, that if someone is the beneficiary of a gesture of goodwill, they are more likely to do something good for somebody else through the day; and so the cycle can continue.

The above sentiment can be typified no better than with a study of workers in the charitable and not for profit sector. There is a significant difference between the average state of happiness and contentment in this sector, than in any other. And the job itself is very hard, and often uncomfortable, which highlights the benefit of doing good for others markedly.

Being relatively low paid, it can sometimes be difficult to experience such an adrenaline boost. However, charities are often happy to take on part time volunteer staff; which can help both parties equally!

Whilst material do things do feel as though they make us happy; it is very much a short, sharp effect. It doesn’t really hold any meaning.

But really, all that having money does is allow us the freedom to live how we want to live; and perhaps it is here we can discover what makes people happy really; freedom to live their lives to the full.

Historical Use Of The Power Of Mind

In the ’80s, the United Negro College Fund ran a series of television and radio spots with the slogan ‘A mind is a terrible thing to waste.’ That slogan goes beyond getting minorities into colleges, and on to every day life. Your mind is the most powerful tool you have to create the life you want. The power of mind is everything!

The subconscious mind has unbelievable power hidden within it. If you’ve had the opportunity to watch, ‘The Secret’ you realized the potential and possibly used it to your advantage. This uses the idea of the ‘power of mind‘. Everything revolves around the Law of Attraction and the fact that when you think about something, you will attract it to you. So keep that in mind as we get deeper into the subject.

In the medical world, this is known as the Placebo Effect; people who are told they’re taking a medicine will get the benefits of that medicine even if they’re given a sugar pill. This happens about 40% of the time and is something clinical trials have to correct for. Similarly, the adage of ‘Mind Over Matter’ holds some credence as well. This is how you’ve seen people think themselves sick, or think themselves well. Mind power is incredible!

While the singular of data is not anecdote, there is some direct experience you’ve had. How many times have you woken up in the morning thinking this was going to be a bad day, or ‘one of those days’. And then had a self-fulfilling prophecy? Welcome to the Law of Attraction on a personal scale. It’s your own mind and your own expectations sabotaging you.

Unfortunately you may have a problem with the scientific evidence, but there is plenty. Quantum mechanics explains that there isn’t matter on a subatomic level and it’s actually just energy. While this is true, there are experiments always being done that makes us realize that energy only exists because of the observer. It truly is the real power behind the mind.

Some of the more fringe scientific studies are trying to link this observer effect to thinks like remote viewing, telepathy, and other ’supernatural’ powers. An even greater extension is that everything we see, feel and hear – all of our sensory inputs, may well be something ’stitched together’ into a narrative by our minds. On the extreme end, this leads to solipsism, the belief that nothing is real until you observe it, and the question of ‘If a tree falls in the woods, and nobody’s around, does it make any sound?’

The Law of Attraction works whether you want it to or not. So focus on using it to change your life for the better. That means thinking carefully about your attitudes, planning ahead, and otherwise living a life of contemplation and consequence. We’re going to take a closer look at what that entails.

The first thing is to have a goal. Without goals people tend to walk through life without meaning. Seriously, if you don’t have anything to accomplish, then you become stagnate and pretty much in limbo. If you have a goal then you have something to work towards that is attainable over a period of time. It could be a couple days, a week, a month, or even years before you accomplish it. What it comes down to is how big your goal is to accomplish.

The sign of someone who’s goal focused is that they’re very driven. They work each and every moment towards some goal, rather than frittering their time away in unstructured pursuits. When they’re working on a goal, they’re driving towards it, rather than do it a little bit, then get distracted by something else. This puts the full power of their mind on the goal, and every little step helps further it. It’s one of those things that’s so difficult because it’s simple. People expect life changing events to be more involved than ‘Make a goal, and stick with it.’

Just think if you could influence your mind to quit smoking, lose weight, make more money, or by that dream home. They are all great things to think about right? Sure, but don’t let it stop with self-improvement. Maybe you want to take the family on that long needed vacation or just get a new set of tires for your worn out vehicle. Obviously you’re going to have to organize your life a little, but with constant affirmation it will keep you motivated throughout the entire process.

Let’s talk about that dream house for a second. You will give yourself the appropriate affirmation to study hard on how to make this happen. You might look into mortgage rates, what you need to do with your personal finances, or even read that fine print on potential contracts. Then of course you aren’t really thinking about getting a dream home anytime soon, and all of the sudden it’s up for sale. Amazing right? Well, it’s just one example of the power behind the subconscious mind and how it will work for you.

This is within your grasp. You can do it – stop letting life happen to you, and you start happening to your life. Make your mind your most powerful asset, and you’ll be astonished at the changes you can make in your life by setting small goals and focusing on them.

A good number of people believe greatly in the power of luck and how it can affect one’s life. Considered to be beyond the physical world, luck is something a lot of people, mostly fatalist ones, build their world around. It comes with either positive or negative bearings. An interesting note about luck is how people or things are considered to be lucky. On the other side of the continuum are the ones who have not been blessed to be lucky. They are surely confounded with the question on why some people are not so lucky.
It is not about luck. Although no physical evidence can disprove the existence of luck, there is also no scientific proof that it is true. In short, it cannot be determined much luck affects a certain situation or if it really does have an effect in one way or another.
Success stories may have talk about the presence of luck up to some point. However, the most common element in success as shown in these stories comes in the form of hard work, perseverance and the will of the person involved.
The real trick does not lie on the power of a charm or a ritual. The greatest factor is on the person’s effort to do well in what he is doing. This is a proven fact with enough scientific evidence for backup.
In the Bible, there is a clear indication of the importance of hard work. Man has to work in order to merit the assistance of the Creator. In addition, laziness is considered something evil.
In conclusion, there are no really unlucky people. There is just a lack of hard work, perseverance and patience. No matter how many charms a business has, if the right working attitudes are not preserved, success is nothing but a mere thought. No matter how many rituals a sportsman engages in before the game starts, if he lacks the necessary training and winning attitude, then he is bound for nothing close to success.

The Science Of Regular Lucid Dreaming

Lucid Dreaming or Conscious Dreaming is the art of being aware that one is actually dreaming. In simple words, while in dream, you are aware that all the events are not happening in fact, or �It�s Just A Dream!� kind of situation. There is certain amount of control you can exercise while lucid dreaming, which is not the case in normal dreams.

The power of having mastery over shaping the events of your own dreams is part of the very definition of the metaphysical. All of the normal dream-time rules, like “timelessness”, “teleportation”, and so on still apply: so, step into an existence where your usual limitations have suddenly vanished without a trace.

So, you ask, can it really be that simple? Surely not every single common person who wants to can experience lucid dreaming!

But the fact of the matter is, lucid dreaming is not at all that difficult, as long as you know what you’re doing. You really just need old fashioned determination and passion.

Perhaps most important of all is that you need to be perfectly clear regarding your personal objective in trying to master lucid dreaming. Are these lucid dreams for your own private playground, or do you have something more serious in mind? It doesn’t much matter, just as long as you’ve got it crystal clear in your mind’s eye.

Then starts the actual process of learning this art. Firstly, you need to learn a process, called Dream Recall, i.e., recalling a dream you had the previous night. Unless you remember a dream, you can�t achieve the stage of lucid dreaming.

The process is slow, but it can be achieved by maintaining a Dream Recall Register in which you enter as many details as you can remember about your dreams daily. Slowly but surely, you�ll realize that you can remember even the most vivid details of your dreams. Periodic reality checks during the course of dreaming will train your mind to be aware in dreams.

Many people have found that hypnosis can drastically reduce the time needed to prepare your subconscious mind to experience lucid dreaming. Often just one of two hypnosis sessions will allow you to consistently remember all of your dreams. Once this occurs your mind is then conditioned for lucid dreaming.

Now, you can get to lucid dreams more easily by simply going back to sleep a few hours before you intend to wake up for the day.

Lucid dreams can be readily induced by going back to sleep for a couple of hours after you wake up in the morning. These dreams are the closest to lucid dreams, because they seem to be borderline between actual dreams or your conscious thoughts manifested in anticipation of an event for that day. Just set an alarm clock to go off a couple of hours before you will be waking up for the day, then turn it off and go back to sleep to experience lucid dreaming.

You may realize now that it�s extremely helpful to keep track of your sleeping patterns so you may find the best times to have lucid dreams.

It’s always been hard, however, to actually take the time to prepare the mind for lucid dreaming. But recent advances in sonic technology have made it all more egalitarian.

More and more people are saying that binaural audios are giving them a faster, easier way to enter through the door of the realm of lucid dreaming.
